Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery was founded in 2003 with a mission to provide the highest quality specialty dental care for pets in Southern Colorado. Dr. Patrick Vall became the owner of Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery in 2017 and has enjoyed building his clinic into a practice of excellence as the only veterinary specialty dental facility in Southern Colorado.
Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery is located within the Veterinary Specialty Center, giving them the ability to work side by side with other specialty practices. We are the only facility in Southern Colorado with veterinarians who are board certified by the American Veterinary Dental College.

Patrick Vall, DVM, DAVDC is a born and raised Buckeye and graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He spent the first 17 years of his career in general practice and emergency medicine. He has owned general practices in Maryland and Colorado and spent 2 years in emergency medicine before starting a dental residency program through the American Veterinary Dental College. In 2015 he became board certified by the American Veterinary Dental College. He became the owner of Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery in 2018. He is also co-owner of Veterinary Dental Group Holdings, a collection of over 15 veterinary dental specialty practices across the United States. Dr. Vall is a past president of the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society and Chapter 7 of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association.
He has lectured extensively across the United States, Ireland, England and the Netherlands.
Dr. Vall and his wife are proud parents of 4 children and 3 grandchildren and have two dogs and one cat. While he always misses his home state of Ohio, he loves Colorado and enjoys hiking, climbing and snowboarding with his children. He has summited over 40 of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks, Mt. Rainier in Washington and Carrauntoohil, the highest peak in Ireland. He recently completed the 500 mile trek El Camino de Santiago across northern Spain with one of his daughters. He is an avid sports fan and follower of his Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland professional sports teams.


Dr. Martin Kennedy is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologistTM that recently joined our team at Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery. Dr. Kennedy attended Cornell University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy completed a rotating internship at the University of Minnesota, and a residency in Anesthesia & Pain Management at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kennedy then joined a busy multi-specialty referral practice in Cincinnati, heading the anesthesia service until December 2019. He then worked at the University of Minnesota as an associate professor of anesthesia & pain medicine prior to joining Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery. He has particular interests in total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), the management of high-risk patients, multimodal pain control, and teaching all things anesthesia.

Dr. Colin Adley grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Creighton University, graduating with a degree in Biology. Dr. Adley received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school he practiced general medicine and surgery in Kansas City. Dr. Adley completed his Dentisty and Oral Surgery Residency at the Animal Dental Center in Maryland and Pennsylvania in 2022. Dr. Adley is an avid fan of Creighton Bluejays basketball, college football, NFL, and golf. He spends his free time hiking the state parks surrounding Colorado Springs with his family, going out to eat, watching documentaries, playing golf, and travelling. He developed a love for traveling after living in Galway, Ireland for 6 months after college. He has been to a total of 14 countries around the world and is anxiously awaiting his next adventure abroad.


Dr. Emily Baldwin grew up in Wyoming and wanted to be a vet from a very young age. She attended Iowa State University for her undergrad education and received her DVM in 2014 from Colorado State University. She spent almost eight years in general practice both here in Colorado Springs and in Phoenix, AZ before deciding that she wanted to pursue veterinary dentistry as a specialty. After completion of her residency, Dr. Baldwin became board-certified in Veterinary Dentistry in 2025.
When she isn’t in the clinic, you can usually either find Dr. Baldwin on a run or entertaining her three young children. She and her family also love to camp and hike with their rambunctious golden retriever, Hank and their Colorado Mountain Dog, Cinderella.
Dr. Baldwin is excited to be able to provide excellent care to you and your pets. She is very much looking forward to meeting you and being part of your pet’s healthcare team.
John Huff, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC is a Colorado native and graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Huff’s professional achievements include traveling to England to help eradicate foot and mouth disease.He has special training in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and is a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College®.
Outside of work he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, music, hiking and camping. He has built a wood strip canoe, two guitars and has climbed all of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks.
John Huff is one of the instructors for the veterinary dental continuing education courses offered at Animal Dental Care & Oral Surgery.


Dr. Alex Toetz has been practicing veterinary medicine for 2.5 years, driven by a lifelong love for animals and science. A proud graduate of Purdue University and the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Toetz has a special interest in dentistry and finds immense fulfillment in helping patients return to their normal, happy selves after treating painful conditions.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Toetz enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, basketball, and pickleball. A computer science enthusiast and former competitive swimmer, Dr. Toetz proudly competed in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. At home, Dr. Toetz shares life with Pretzel, a 10-year-old golden retriever who lives for belly rubs and chasing balls.
